The first LEDs are blinkin away. I have done the “Wiring Grid” for one board and started to solder it to it’s 595 board. This one will act as a prototype, to get an idea of spacings and to make sure it all works flawlessly before doing the others. I’ll post a video here of what it’s like so far. I have been having problems with the main board, done of extremely cheap and nasty vectorboard. There was a fault with the actual vectorboard, so today I redid it all on a breadboard. Looks like an excuse to order some Perma-Proto (or whatever it’s called) from Adafruit, looks cool. I think I will dedicate this school break to this one board, and to get all the circuitry and firmware up to production standard, and then do the other boards over summer (whilst finishing the construction during the summer term, I’ve ordered the nuts, flat-bar and timber, so should be there when term resumes, hopefully). Of course these deadlines only exist in the world of mushrooms, so bear no resemblance to ordinary time (as I am just about the worlds biggest procrastinator, and generally lazy person). But so far, going well
As you can see from the video there are 2 ping pong balls missing. This is not deliberate, I trashed them, but I’ll replace them when term resumes
